Nathaniel F. Haban, Director of Photography
Nathaniel Haban is an accomplished and award-winning filmmaker, experienced in multiple disciplines, including Cinematography, Lighting, and Screenwriting.
A 2008 graduate of the University of WI - Oshkosh, with a B.A. in Film Production, with an emphasis on Cinematography, I originally a double-majored in Fine Arts and English, but jumped that the opportunity that film provided - to combine both fields: striking visual compositions with narrative storytelling. It proved to be a very successful pairing. My work has garnered numerous awards, including ‘Best Film’, ‘Best Experimental Film’, and awards of merit. I have served as Director of Photography on on over 2 Dozen feature films, campaigns for Fortune-500 companies, countless short films, and music and fashion videos. Many of which have gone on to wide release as well as critical and financial success, and my work had taken my cross country and world-wide.

In 2012, I founded Haban Media Works, LLC, a Wisconsin-based production company offering high-end, Hollywood-caliber cinematography and camera, lighting, and grip equipment support services.
Haban Media Works pairs extensive experience in advertising, video, and feature-film environments, with professional-grade camera and lighting equipment, and strive to provide the highest-quality image possible to satisfy your cinematographic needs. Welcome to the World
On April 4th, 2022, we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Estelle “Stella” Haban into our loving arms.
South Africa Travel Diary: Part 1
Perhaps it was with this in mind that I was contacted about a new project for The Asylum, titled 6-Headed Shark Attack. The film, as you can reasonably guess, is about (spoiler alert) a 6-headed shark that attacks people, and was set to film in South Africa. The answer was an immediate “yes”. Not only because it was the chance to work with a great team on a fun project, but frankly, it was the opportunity to get out of Wisconsin in February and go film in an exotic location - my first time filming internationally.

The 1“ish” Ton Package
Dubbed the 1”ish”-Ton Kit, it contains a fair bit beyond your standard 1-ton. This package was designed with challenging locations in mind. Included are significantly more light modifiers, grip, and rigging options than a traditional 1-ton, to give you a much more versatile and practical lighting package.
